Jeroen van Baar (1990) studied cognitive neuroscience in Utrecht and Paris. His PhD research is on economic decision making in a social context. How do social emotions and economic reasoning meet in the brain? And why are we often nice to each other? These questions are fundamental to human society, which largely depends on mutual trust and norm-driven behavior.
For Jeroen, science and communication are inseparable. Consequently, he likes to keep busy as much as he can with op-ed pieces, newspaper articles and talks on his book De Prestatiegeneratie. He enjoys playing music and wasting time, at home or at a bar.
